THE BAND...

Band Slip was founded in September 2004 in Zagreb, Croatia by fiddler Nikola Ĉeran and whistle player Ivo Turk who previously played in the band Shamrock Rovers. The band Slip was named after Irish dancer rhythm slip jig. Due to discrepancy of two mentioned band members with musical conception of the former Shamrock Rovers, they decided to form a band that would fulfil their musical interests. Therefore they invited bodhrán player Tina Miškoviĉ and guitarist Hrvoje Sudar into band. The first Slip’s concert was held in Croatian town of Sisak only a month after the band was formed. Since than, the band has had many performances. In June 2005 flute player Ivan Biliĉ was invited into band. Ivan gave to the band fulfilled and more interesting sound.

From its foundation Slip was appropriated for playing Irish instrumental music, which excludes engagement of vocals. In the musical sense Slip tries to find an expression that would be a synthesis of Irish instrumental music and its own compositions. By combining traditional music with its own compositions the band tries not to loose traditional elements. The band Slip performed in almost all major clubs in Zagreb hand had concerts throughout Croatia. Slip also performed abroad (Slovenia, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina). At the moment Slip is in process of recording its first studio album which should be finished until the beginning of summer 2008.
